This project was an intensive DFM Improvement project with the goal to increase the moldability and lower the cost of the unit. This project was a re-designed from the original unit to incorporate identical morrored halfs which would open and close reliably and withstand the intense forces acted upon the carrier while in transit. The original design incorporated a piano hinge system which complicated molding and function. Every componnet of this project was thoroughly and methodically dissected and improved to create the most efficient design possible.
